I have two Bachelor’s degrees, you would think that I’d be financially set, right? Well, I’m not, and I’m starting to get used to it. I stress about money when my bank account gets below $500, and after paying a ton of bills, I’m under that level again. I get paid this Friday, but will be stressed all week until the money actually hits. That’s just me. (This is one of the things you will get used to as you read this blog.)
So yeah, I have two degrees, I work a full-time job, and still struggle to make ends meet all the time. However, I know I am blessed. I have two degrees, I work a full time job, I have a house to live in, family who loves me, friends who do the same, a car, electricity, a couch to sit on, my laptop, an internet connection, a shelf full of books, a cell phone that does fancy things, two pounds of coffee in my freezer, a fridge with food in it, and I know that I am blessed.
I know that I’ll be taken care of. I have utter faith that the Lord provides enough for birds that He’ll provide for me as well; but I still stress. If you are of the praying type, please pray that I get over this stress and JUST have faith.
For now, I am off to bed; I have to drive clear across town every day this week for teller school … instead of 4 miles a day and a full gas tank at the end of the week, I’ll be doing 40 miles a day and an empty tank on payday. At least I have a car – public transit takes 2 hours!

Hey Babe,
We’ll be up again on Sunday for a show (Avenue Q), then I have some dates in late July that I’ll be up, just me, for sinus and diabetes doctors. I’m fairly sure those appointments are on the 25th and 29th.

Comment by Talana June 23, 2008 @ 4:52 amwell, being someone who rarely has a bank balance above a couple hundred dollars, i can understand the stress. i figure (most of the time), it will always work out one way or another, as long as i’m reasonably responsible – and it does. and it will work out for you eventually in the next year, so that you stop feeling pressured to stay afloat and start being able to sail.

Comment by the MomBabe June 23, 2008 @ 8:50 pmAre you reading Get Rich Slowly? I love the way that he thinks about money, and he’s changing my life a tiny bit at a time {like … I have a crush on the plan of getting a high interest rate savings account}.
Comment by Cobblestone June 23, 2008 @ 11:49 pmFor further perspective, from the heart of Appalachia, at least you have public transportation! The closest we have that is the city buses an hour away, or the small airport 75 minutes away.
I did once know an OT assistant who had made it through school by walking 2 miles to the bus with a toddler, riding for over an hour, doing school, then reversing. Pretty amazing.
