My time, that is. Rather than sitting on my ass, typing away at Plurk, with my herps, I gave away four hours of my ever-so-small banking knowledge to a crowd of 400+; then I gave away a free iPod shuffle! My bank regularly participates in housing fairs and today I joined one of our personal bankers for a few hours at a Native American FIrst-time Homeowners Fair. It was waaaaaaaaay out on the other side of town, but the time flew by and I got free food and a new fluorescent light bulb so it was worth it.
I’m supposed to go to a birthday party tonight at a smokey, crowded, weak-drinked karaoke bar. I RSVP’d for it but am second-guessing myself right now. Honestly I don’t want to go. I’d love to see the birthday girl, but since the bar is WAAAAAAAAY across town (again) I can’t drink more than a couple of drinks and make it home safely, so I’ll be sober around a bunch of drunk obnoxious people … which will encourage me to drink more and then I’ll be stuck out even later. I’ve just talked myself out of going. Thanks for your help.
I am on the search for a black, knee-length, pencil-skirt that isn’t high-rise. I tried on six last night and wasn’t happy with any of them. I’m sorry, but this whole “high-rise” fit is a bunch of baloney. I don’t need my hips looking any wider than they already are thankyouverymuch. Any suggestions would be appreciated! I’ve been told that “wrap skirts” are easy to make, and while I am sure they are, that’s a lot more effort, and I’ve never sewn my own clothes before. It’d be an undertaking I’m kinda scared of.

You’re welcome for helping talk you out of going. Sounds like what goes on in my head for any social gathering. And since I don’t drink much, I usually leave early.
Pencil skirt? Yeah, no. Sorry.
Comment by Angie July 26, 2008 @ 6:01 pmAck. Um. I wear A-Line…so, not sure. I love athleta.com and they have skirts too…but not a lot of black, and not sure they have any pencil right now! Haha. So not helpful, I know. You can maybe find one on etsy.com OR at least find a designer you like with prices you like and see if they will do one custom for you? Just a thought. Good luck! Be sure to post pics of what you come up with!
