The Third Degree

Wearing Poohjamas in public

A couple of days ago, Angie wrote You’re all meh and feelings and shiz and I haven’t been able to get it out of my head because I’m right there with her. I’m not in high school but sometimes I still feel like that 10th grade debate team geek and the team is laughingat me  because the my hotel-roommates told them about my Winnie the Pooh pajamas.

I’ve never been a cool kid, but I’ve always had quality friends. I’ve never been the popular girl, but I don’t like to be the center of attention so I’m okay with that. I’m not the smartest person on the planet, but I can hold my own in any conversation.

I’m a successful grown woman who is being courted by a graduate school. I have some of the most amazing friends who would do anything for me. I excel at a job I never dreamed I could handle. Even with all of these things going for me though, I have moments where I feel like that 15-year-old girl being laughed at by the Seniors.

Whoever it was that laughed at your Winnie the Pooh jammies has no taste. I am 25 and I have a pair of Winnie the Pooh jammies! The good thing is at my age I have stopped caring so much about what others think (especially when it comes to such superficial things).

You hit it on the head. I’ve always been friends w/ the cool kids, but never the head bitch. I’m realizing now, I’m OK with that. It’s too much pressure to be the one being looked at all the time!

You’re in MY cool kids club.

Viv – gotta love high school, though. A girl who saw those PJs in high school still teases me about them on Facebook!

Ang – <3 you. Being friends with the cool kids is so much easier on the psyche.

MomBabe – yay for being in someone’s Cool Kids Club!

I was never the cool kid.. and oh so happy with that.. because all the cool kids back in my day are the biggest losers of life now.

I like you just the way you are :)

I wear my pj’s to the grocery store ALL the time. No one wants to go with me from home and no one at the store tries to talk to me. It is like my own little 1 hour vacation twice a month!
